Bill Downey raced a Ferrari Corvette at the 1962 Australian GP and the car was then sold to the UK. In the mid 1960’s Bob Jeaps built a replica chassis with Jaguar 16″ wire wheels, four wheel disc brakes and a 1959 Chev Corvette engine and 4 speed gearbox. Bill Downey acquired the car in the 1990’s and in 2013 Bill donated the car to the West Australian Racing Museum. Bill is currently repairing the body and it is hoped the car will be complete in 2014/15.
