Austin Healey Bug Eye Sprite

In 1968 Neil McCrudden acquired a bug eyed sprite from Dudley Cummusky.
The car was fitted with an ex- speedway grey motor Holden with triple 1 ¾ SU carbs, tuned extractors and modified head, three speed Holden gearbox.
In early 1969 the grey motor was replaced with a Holden 186 motor, triple Webers, 12 port head, CDI ignition, dry sump, tuned extractors, Bert Jones cam coupled to a close ratio Saginaw gearbox. A 3.55 Holden LSD independent suspension was fitted on the rear and modified Rose jointed front suspension on the front coil over adjustable shocks were fitted to all corners. Disc brakes were also fitted to all four wheels. In early 1972, a GM371 Blower was also fitted.

The car ran until the late 1970's and has been in storage since.

It is hoped to restore it back to its 1969 competition period.
