Front Suspension - Modified VW H-beam arrangement with torsion bar spring and adjustable Koni shock absorbers

Rear Suspension - Adjustable traverse leaf spring on Pro shocks.

History                   
Raced extensively on most of Australia 's major circuits on the Eastern seaboard from 1984. Brought to W.A in 1994 and raced continuously until 2004.  The car was then refurbished in 2004 and has continued to yield good results.

Specification - Group 2A Sports car (Estimated race car build date in the 1960's)

Engine - Currently fitted with a Z18T, Turbo charged, fuel injected engine with twin spark plug head. (Eventually will be returned to original racing configuration B series engine)

Chassis - Space frame front end mated to reinforced Austin Healey rear tub.
Chassis number AN506641.

Front suspension - Wishbone suspension arm style on torsion bars.

Rear suspension - 1/4 elliptic rear springs, original Armstrong lever type shock absorbers.

History                  
 This cars historical details are a still under research. What is known, is that the Sprite was raced in NSW from the mid Sixties through to 2006 by various previous owners. Evidence has been found of it attending race meetings at the Amaroo Park circuit in the early 1970's.
A previous owner recovered the race car from a suburban Sydney backyard in a neglected state. At the time the car was yellow with back GT style stripes down the bonnet and it was marked with the racing number 12.
A scrutineering sticker for Amaroo Park dated November 1974 was on the windscreen. A different shape bonnet was fitted to the car. It was of the style referred to as "the Shark" and it was fitted with wheel arch extensions which stuck out straight horizontally. Similar flares where fitted to the rear arches at the time.

The car was refurbished in 1988 and raced in various events in NSW.

It was sold into W.A in 2007 and work has began on restoration.
